Support for Life's Transitional Moments
When you can't go back, and the way forward seems uncertain.
When you can't go back, and the way forward seems uncertain.
Whether you're going through a divorce, relationship loss, career change, relocation, getting older, or navigating other big life changes - uncertainty and the unknown can be incredibly challenging.
Common ways this shows up include:
~ Loss of identity: Wondering "Who am I without this person, job, or role?"
~ Grief & anxiety: Feeling alone and fearful of an unpredictable future.
~ Feeling stuck: A sense of powerlessness or low motivation because "what's the point?"
~ Ruminating loops: Getting caught in "why me?", "what if?", and "if only I had..."
Support is available.

How therapy can help
You know the tools, you can google "strategies to cope with change".
Therapy is helpful when the tools are hard to access, when the emotions are so big and overwhelming that it's hard to reflect and gain perspective on your own, and when your current support networks just can't hold the intensity of it all - or for when it's just easier to talk to a stranger who isn't in the same storm.
What therapy with me looks like:
~ Make sense of your story: A dedicated space to process what happened and its impact on your relationships, health, mood, and confidence.
~ Explore what matters: A look at what's not working, what feels manageable, and why.
~ Reconnect with your values: Clarity on your underlying commitments, beliefs, and intentions for your life.
~ Feel heard & supported: An opportunity to be validated, gently held accountable, and supported to live in alignment with what’s most important.
~ Recognise your existing strengths: Identifying the skills and resilience you are already drawing on to navigate these uncertain times.
This is Narrative Therapy - a collaborative, empowering process to help you regain agency and control over your life.
I also draw on motivational interviewing, somatic work, parts work, psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-informed care tailored to your needs.

Hi, I'm Jaclyn...
I'm an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker based in the Byron Bay region.
For 15 years, I’ve worked predominantly with young people and their parents navigating adolescence- the quintessential "in-between" developmental phase focused on identity, independence, and questions of "who am I?" Through this and running Rites of Passage programs, I learned that major life transformations happen at any age and it's often a similar process of change.
Around my 40th birthday, my own life fell apart through multiple unexpected losses and changes. I felt stuck, disoriented, and hopeless about the future. It took time, good therapy, and relying on my inner and spiritual supports to rebuild. I’m still in that rebuilding phase -working out what’s important to me now and how I want to prioritise my energy - and I’m feeling excited about what that looks like.
Part of what hasn't changed is my commitment to service, purpose, and making meaning from life's painful experiences. I now offer Liminal Counselling not because I have all the answers, but because I know the opportunity in change - and there's no reason to navigate it alone.

I’m going through a big life change, but I’m not sure if I "need" therapy. Can this still help?
Absolutely. If you're feeling lost or stuck or simply needing an additional space to unpack what's happened and reflect, therapy can provide that.
Do I need a GP referral before booking an initial 15-minute call with you?
No. You're welcome to book a call, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for whether I'm the right fit for your needs.
From there, you can book an initial session without a referral.
Alternatively, if you're experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression or have another mental health diagnosis, you can talk to your GP and ask for a Mental Health Care Plan and referral to me. With this, you will be eligible to receive the Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands where I live and work - the Arakwal people of the Bundjalung nation - and the elders, ancestors, creator spirits, and living custodians of this oldest continuous culture on Earth. I honour their ongoing connection to the Land and Waters that has been cultivated over thousands of generations.
