FREE VICTIM'S SERVICES COUNSELLING NSW
In person Byron Bay and Telehealth/ online
This is for you if:
- you have experienced or witnessed a violent crime in NSW (or your child has)
- this experience has impacted you in some way - this might look like nightmares, withdrawal, or simply feeling not quite like yourself
- you sense that some additional support could help, but you want it to feel safe and at your own pace
- you're looking for free trauma counselling in person in Byron Bay/ Northern Rivers or via Telehealth anywhere in Aus
As an Approved Victim's Services Counsellor I offer:
- free, confidential, and trauma-informed counselling
- a space to process at your own pace, without pressure
- support to reconnect with your own sense of agency, skills, and inner strength
(Please note: I do not offer crisis counselling or emergency support. If you need immediate support, please contact the Mental Health Access Line on 1800 011 511 or 1800 RESPECT on 1800 737 732.)
HOW I WORK:
For complex trauma (including childhood or developmental trauma, or multiple traumatic experiences over time), I follow the Blue Knot Foundation guidelines and use a phased approach to trauma treatment.
This means we begin with safety and stabilisation, taking the time to build a sense of grounding and support.
Only once this feels established do we move into trauma processing, and then finally integration.
For single-incident trauma, safety and stabilisation are still an important starting point. From there, we can draw on a range of nervous system and somatic approaches to support your recovery.
In all cases, the focus is on gently strengthening your sense of agency, your existing skills, and your values - so you can move forward from a place that feels steady, resourced, and integrated.

About the NSW Victim's Support Scheme:If you have experienced or witnessed a violent crime in NSW (including domestic violence or sexual assault), you are eligible for free trauma counselling under this scheme.
If you’re unsure about any part of this process, you’re welcome to reach out with questions. You may also be eligible for a recognition payment. This requires additional documentation (such as police or medical information) and a Certificate of Injury. If you’ve experienced psychological impact from the event, I can provide this certificate after our initial sessions together. |
How to book an initial session:
You’re welcome to reach out via the contact page if you have any questions or want to check if this feels like the right fit
Once you have your approval letter from Victim’s Services, you can email it through to me at [email protected]
From there, we can arrange a time for your initial session
In-person sessions are available in Byron Bay on Saturdays, and Telehealth sessions offered Wednesday to Friday.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands where I live and work - the Arakwal people of the Bundjalung nation - and the elders, ancestors, creator spirits, and living custodians of this oldest continuous culture on Earth. I honour their ongoing connection to the Land and Waters that has been cultivated over thousands of generations.
